Begin Here

Wisdom of the Cosmos

The first step starts where you are.

Begins August 8, 2026, 10:00am PDT

Explore the profound teachings of the Huangdi Neijing as they reveal precious insights into cosmology and humanity’s relationship with nature.

This is a complete, standalone and inspired introduction to Neijing Nature-Based Medicine. It's also the first semester of the full mentorship for those who wish to continue.

Over one semester, you will study with Dr. Edward Neal: the cosmology, early Chinese history, and language that anchor this medicine, through recorded lectures, live Sunday sessions, and discussion with learners worldwide. It's a true beginning for practitioners testing the path, and for scholars and serious students drawn to the depth of the Huangdi Neijing.

Begin with one semester. Decide later, your tuition carries forward.

Dr. Neal opened my eyes to how nature works and how the universe patterns itself, and that is a gift for which I am forever in gratitude. He is absolutely inspiring.

The Full Mentorship

Neijing Nature-Based Medicine: 2-Year Postgraduate Mentorship

Mentorship in classical medicine, practiced from first principles | With Dr. Edward Neal

Begins August 8, 2026, 10:00am PDT

The 2-Year Postgraduate Mentorship is a comprehensive program grounded in the original language and philosophy of the Huangdi Neijing. Designed for dedicated practitioners seeking depth, clarity, and authentic lineage-based study.

The program is built on a living tradition of mentorship. Knowledge passes not through lectures alone, but through shared experience and careful observation. We learn to see again with new eyes, a deeper understanding, and a fresh perspective. Teachers and students walk the path together as colleagues.

Over four semesters, we will return to the foundations of classical medicine, the principles most practitioners never met in their formal training. We'll cultivate a deeper understanding that reshapes the way we look at the body, illness, and our own clinical work. The pace is a saunter, not a sprint; it is spacious, restorative, and designed for knowledge that grows slowly and holds.

The full program pairs an Online Lecture Series with three seven-day Clinical Practicums at Trout Lake Abbey in Washington (US), where study moves into the hands through diagnosis, touch, and practice. The Online Lecture Series may also be taken on its own.

NCCAOM PDA and California CEU available

“

Chinese Medicine theory and practice has never made more sense than it does now, and I can very confidently tell patients and other practitioners what I’m doing and why it works. You have completely changed my practice and opened up a whole world for me. I’ve never been more excited about practicing Chinese Medicine.

E.F., Acupuncturist & Clinical Director

What does it mean to study and practice medicine from first principles?

Dr. Edward Neal explores several simple yet profound ideas about what medicine can strive to be and what it means to work from nature’s principles rather than assumptions, conventions, or established methods alone.

These ideas inform the foundations of Neijing Nature-Based Medicine.
